I had a dream that Peter Murphy called me on my cellphone and J had a conversation with him about poetic and artistic blocks and how to overcome them. Of course I forget the advice as soon as I woke up. I decided to message Peter on The Myspace regarding this subject. I understand he is on tour and all but he will have sage advice that I would appreciate. I also slipped in there that I too love Jean Cocteau and now we will be BFFs for life.
What brought this dream on? Some friends and I saw the Seattle Bauhaus tribute/cover band The Sky's Gone Out, which for Seattle is a perfect choice considering the last couple of days it has rained and its July. They were fun and The Peter was hot but had Daniel Ash hair and that kind of messed with my head. He wore some skirt/pants/tights thing which reminded me that J was vaguely interested in a Utilikilt and/or regular kilt and I must ask him again if he is still into that as it is highly stimulating. I was trying to explain to J last night at 1am how I felt about the tribute band but it being late and he being incredulous about tribute bands made me all confoozled. Basically it was fun because at an actual Bauhaus show J and I are up front and in awe which doesn't let you be silly and dance around to the music. Sure, you can head bob and yes, do THE POGO as that is all the limited space will let you do. But be all silly and pull some taffy...no.
The crowd last night was actually decent. Not too many fetish poseurs and irritating squares but a lot of fans. There was a lady that yelled out to the band that "you were probably born in '81" when the the singer made a reference to THE POGO starting in '81. Old goths are so bitter. Sad, but true as I have run into them throughout the years. Lets not begrudge the young hawt things their face in the light. I guess one of the guitarist/bassist (I was too far away to tell what instrument, I am totally suck) is/was in Faith & Disease whom I love. I am glad he is doing this with a little more flash because although I love the F&D their live act was a snooze-fest for me and I can dig a live goth-chamber-music act.
On another note my friend Melinda and I decided to start up walking again. I am thrilled as my pants/clothes are too tight for comfort...stupid extended Seattle winter! We did almost die walking from my place, around Greenlake and back again. That is about a 5 mile walk with slight inclines to which I climbed embarassingly out of breath.
I totally didn't pay my LJ fees and can't use my fun userpics and it is mocking me to pay. I figured I would see how goes it with my posting (or lack thereof) and see if it is worth it since I paid for a year and barely used it. Anyways, that is all. I am going to get up the will to go to Trader Joe's on a Sunday. Oi.

my friend melinda found a ridiculous airfare, a direct flight from seattle to london-heathrow for $667! so i bought a ticket for June 20th - July 3rd. i'll be going to london, paris, belgium and berlin. too fun!
in london i have a saturday stay, so i want to go to the slimelight, which is THE oldest goth club on earth. it has 3 floors with each floor doing a different type of goth-related music. i went here back when i was in london in 2001...it was pretty damn cool. i talked to some guy that looked like a strung out martin gore from depeche mode, wandered around a lot and pulled some taffy on the floor. i just saw on their front page that Christian Death is performing...uh what's the point without rozz williams?!
i haven't really thought about what i am going to DO yet and will have to get some travel guides to help me out. in london i know i want to tour the globe theater, visit camden town again (mmm shopping) and that's all i got for now. i realize the dollar is in the toilet and everything (especially in london) will be at the largest of mark-ups. damn.
in other news, i shook hands with crispin glover (better known as george mcfly from "back to the future"). he wasn't as crazy as i thought but he did have some weird scripted speech and tended to talk over people...but i didn't go because of me, i went coz my friend meli thinks he's the hawt. i was giggling a lot because melinda was so nervous about talking to him and then he asked "what are you laughing at?" to which i promptly shut up, smiled and gave him a wink. great. he prolly thinks *I* was trying it on with him. doh. i am glad she talked to him in any case and now i can match the man with the myth.
that's all really. my stupid insomnia woke me up this sunday morning...now i will try to fall asleep, again.

it's j and my 5th anniversary this month. woo! crazy stuff that. we are so totally married it is ridiculous. we are going to celebrate by going to the chinese vegan restaurant, the tea pot. mmm. delish. i will get all dressed up so he remembers why i so hawt.
next time i post i will put up some drawings of the character designs i have done for my comic books. uhm, just need the story to get straight in my head. i have far too many projects i start and need to finish. i kinda do that, i start piles and then work my way through one a bit then go on the next for a bit. i do the same thing with books, i can read up to like 5 at a time. so i will read one for a bit and can move on to the next when the other is at a slow part. j says that it's because i am a renaissance woman and not flaky. :P
we went dancing at the noc-noc for their 80's night. it was pretty fun. i love that they played hall & oates, book of love, depeche mode and love and rockets. cool.
a couple of weeks ago my friend melinda got us into a preview of the movie notes on a scandal. which was really good. i love the cate and i love the judi. i won't spoil much but there is this scene of cate blanchett on a toilet and my god, she is even beautiful ON THE TOILET! the world is not fair. but i still love her because she is so cool.
i think i am going to rockabilly weekend in april. i have to. meli has never seen a male stripper and i need to take a photo of one wagging their tassled thong in her face. it will keep me young laughing at that for years to come.
i think i need to get a new stereo for my damn car. i made another beer tape (yes i own a tape deck still, nostalgia). i kept rewinding the lowlife songs i put on my tape and it finally died. damn!!! that was a effing good tape too. i had some gary glitter, wolfsheim, the chameleons and pet shop boys and that. garrrh! you can't make the likes of it again.
i love big electric cat one of the 90's goth bands that were so fantastic. so sad they are no longer. they pretty much RAWK and get a little gothy and then rock some more. just so you know, they rule.
huh, that's all.

so i have been reminded that convergence 13 is happening in portland by
_boxinghelena's post and j and i discussed going when we found out it would be in portland. also i almost kind of agreed to go to rockabilly weekend. and i really can't afford to go to BOTH and ITALY. i guess i will have to talk to jason and see if he still wants to go to convergence. i've been to convergence 3 and 6 so i am obviously overdue. but dang vegas is fun! especially with decked out rockabilly kids and my neeto burrito friends. *sigh*
what is your new years going to consist of? i think j and i will stay here and play video games..final fantasy 12 for me in fact. i got the game and the like 300 page guide with it, so it's a bit involved. o_O but i LOVES it.
note to self, i need to make an ff icon.
also jason makes an awesome fettacine alfredo..mmmmm which we will be having tonight with roasted garlic bread. to.die.for.
i've also done some character sketches for 2 of the comic book stories i am working on. the stories themselves are s...l...o...w...l...y taking shape but the character designs are looking hot. i'll remember to scan and post at some point..tee.
one story i got inspired by this song by ride called "polar bear" which effing ROCKS and apparently was inspired by a jd salinger short story which is PERFECT because mine is about an adolescent girl and so was his. :P

i admit it, i am kind of a geek of all persuasions. my current fascination is with a manga/anime called yami no matsuei or descendants of darkness. i really don't need to say much about it because, basically, it just rulez. because jason rulez he made me a lovely gif which displays my smiths geekitude and my manga/anime geekitude. thats one good dorky sandwich.

*NOTE* i had to make it my default pic because LJ removed it from my post area so i couldn't select it. what's THAT all about LJ?! suck it.

i got one of those livejournal nudge thingies (which i didn't even know existed) from a friend who says i haven't written in a while (which i haven't). i won't point out the fact that said friend also doesn't post in their lj very much either, however, i will take this as a compliment that i AM in fact interesting to some extent.
i hate promoting myspace but i am not really i am just pointing out 4 awesome things about MY myspace:
1. sweetarse photo of yours truly. which mex says frightens him but i say shows my sensitive and joyful side.
2. devestating photo of jason.
3. cutearse photo of mokey.
4. there is a song i posted there by COLDER. so if you have the audio turned off, turn it ON fools! that song is so hotness i can't stand it. all new wave sexiness.
i log into myspace all the time...but it's not what you think! my baby sister uses it as a medium of contact so that is why and uhm i like reading stuff my friends post so yeah. j and i are currently figuring out how to change the layout coz it is totally lame.
i hate when people try to hit up on me. when if they READ my profile it states i am in a RELATIONSHIP about a million times and specify i'm on there for friends only. then i have a picture of my pretty boyfriend on there to deter people from thinking they can compete. it's just silly.
it's like back in the old days of chatrooms when some guy would show you a picture of their supposed schlong but their face is photoshopped on. then he expects you to want to totally chat with him because of this but come on!
anyhoo, enough about the internets. i love the internets! it got me my boyfriend, my friends and my cat! so twentieth century girl it's true.
seattle was shut down by 2" of snow. i got to stay home yesterday and watch a lot of court tv and was saddened by the fact that i missed martha stewart...AGAIN! i really should be uhm sewing and like studying my wil eisner book but uhm...yeah. it's too cold! that's also why i haven't gone to the gym (yet) all week. the last thing i want to do is get all sweaty and then walk out of the gym into 20 degree weather.
looks like i might be going to italy with my babysister
amandaburgan september 2007. which works out loads better and gives us enough time to budget accordingly and learn le italiano!
ps, i have to end with that i do really read your journals i just can't get the will to type. i will work on that and work on the complimenting people vocally instead of in my head. right.

1. voting is cool. even tho that poll worker beeyotch thought i couldn't put my vote in the slot without her guidance....it all turned out for the best. in yo' face! and rumsfeld "resigning" was just icing on that cake. i actually high-fived someone at work over that.
2. gothic poseurs are NOT cool. you are fucking lame. you know who you are.
3. work is better, best for me anyways, i like feeling useful.
4. learning a lot about comic theory. reading will eisner and alan moore musings on the subject and it is quite fascinating. oh, did i mention i am developing an urban fantasy comic book? well i am.
5. meli took me to see placebo and she wants revenge a couple of weeks ago. placebo was placebo and i have solidified the fact that jason is prettier than brian molko. she wants revenge are great live and do sound like joy division with a bit more sexuality and rockstar drama thrown in. couldn't say i would ever be in the mood to listen to them on my own tho but would see them live again.
6. fake, insincere, emotional baggage ladened people are even lamer than gothic poseurs.
7. i am getting braces aka a mouth full of metal. this should be a fun 7 months (or less, at least that is what my dentist said...)
8. work gossip is dah bomb.
9. i pretty much heart the animated Justice Leagues they can take me anywhere and i will gladly follow.
10. i love chenille fuzzy socks.
carry on.

jason and i have been watching season one of Justice League which is fantastic. it's done by the same team that did Batman: Animated in the 90's (which if you haven't seen is sooooo farking cool, neat art deco design for gotham and the characters).
my favorite character from JL is J'onn J'onzz or aka Martian Manhunter. which when we first started the show i thought would be my least favorite what with Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman in the mix.
however, his story is touching and the wonderful voice acting by Carl Lumbly lends itself to the character.
anyhoo, jason made the following LJ gif for me but considering LJ only allows 40kbs per picture the fancy wipes had to go, ;( sadness:

but my lj pic shows it w/o the wipes but the story telling is lost a bit.

OMFG! i can't beleive they actually remastered THESE
It's this band called Lowlife who is absolutely awesome, but I think me and like 5 other people on the planet know who they are. when i went to britain i made a specific note to buy any and all of these albums but nobody had ANYTHING! i went on ebay and Diminuendo went for like $60 and i was poor. so jason found their tracks on soulseek and they weren't the best quality but it was all i had...
but now, NOW! i can get them remastered PLUS all the singles!!!! i am so farking happy and will drop loads of money to buy them all now. EDIT: San Antorium and Godhead won't be out until this September. DOH!
come to think of it, do yourself a favor and purchase Diminuendo as I think "A Sullen Sky" is a fantastic song. all dark dance dream pop, if there is such a thing. Will Heggie from early Cocteau Twins is in this band. If you like The Chameleons or Cocteau Twins you will LOVE this.

1. some jackarse SUV (the insurance adjuster told me) side-swiped my car in the middle of the night and knocked the driver-side mirror mostly off. i now look really ghetto with some brown packing tape holding it together until i get it fixed.
2. i caught an airborne INTESTINAL VIRUS from work. apparently 6 other people in my department alone have caught it. lemme tell you it was the WORST pain i have ever felt in my life. the only way i can explain is that it felt like i was giving birth but the pain wasn't in my back it was around all the nice sensitive squishy organs in the front of my body. p.s. i have never given birth.
3. jason's back is all stiff and is walking like a boxy robot. which i kinda laugh at and he gets annoyed. he didn't laugh at me when i was doubled over and crying from pain. maybe i am a bad girlfriend. :/
( woah...this went kinda long )

don't even get me started on the skinny leg jeans thing...ya know, skinny leg is another terminology for TAPERED leg! ewwwwwww!
i love the 80's just the same if not more than the average josephina...but even i know that 99.9 % of that fashion nightmare should have stayed in the past and buried under 100ft of concrete. the only individuals excluded are siouxsie sioux, bauhaus and david bowie.
pause to edit, i am totally going to work on that spelling compilation and i'll post what i have so far.
i should get paid to rag on stupid fashion and come up with silly song compilations. if you hear of a job opening, let me know.

i love them. j and i looked for a spelling song compilation and COULD NOT find one! how weird...
so! if you know if a song that involves spelling please let me know as i am going to put together my own compilation.
want examples? here you go:
L.O.V.E - nat king cole, classic!
F.E.E.L.I.N.G C.A.L.L.E.D L.O.V.E - PULP, hawt!
take me to the hospital - the faint, i so heart this one. take me to the H take me to the O...
ouija board - morrissey, i don't heart this one that much...but moz spells his name incorrectly.
no big dealy, just couldn't come up with songs that have spelling in them and thought you might know...no counting! just spelling.
or if not, that's cool too.

well not QUITE...i did buy a Sewing Machine on amazon. i figured it was time i learned to sew especially when I complain about the fashions available nowadays. we'll see what happens...i am mostly getting it so I can redo some tshirts of mine and make them super cute. it will come in handy for clothing wear and tear. if i get really into it, i'll upgrade.
but THIS ONE sure caught my eye....

sorry y'alls. i swear i have been ridiculously busy. altho i have thought of some very clever observations i wanted to relate in my LJ to impress all you very witty people...but have subsequently forgotten them all. :/
damn!
i went to chicago on business. hehehe, it seems funny for me to say that...like i am all PROFESSIONAL woman or something. i think i'll never grown up. anyhoo, i basically worked the entire time and honestly could have been drugged to make me THINK i was on a plane, but really was in just another subburb of bellevue. considering all i saw was the airport/hotel/office. ah well, i had some delicious spinach deep dish pizza and for me that was divine enough.
i wish t-mobile didn't block the LJ from work! but then again, if they expect me to actually WORK then uhm...prolly a good idea.
i kinda want to see that movie American Dreamz as i kinda have a crush on hugh grant and it looks hilarious. mandy moore is pretty, there i said it.
my brother's birthday was sunday (april 23) and he was playing a benefit show in olympia. my sister, tyler, j and i went. i enjoyed myself! i think his band, hail SEIZURES, had a lot of passion/charizma. they remind me of the birthday party / joy division with a dash of carissa's weird. the sound was lacking but other than that it was pretty cool. my brother just told me he recently listened to nick cave's "Murder Ballads" and he really liked it. i am so proud of him. he also said his favorite song is "Stagger Lee" which is MY favorite song on that album, it runs in the blood.
i think that is all...unless i can remember my clever things i wanted to say.
doh!
Nope!
damn!

been working 50-60 hour weeks...AGAIN! i know, i know...but i am saving up money to go to italy and trying to pay off my car in september. i do love goals i tell ya what.
also, i have been budgeting (ok, COUNTING) my calories for the past month and lost 6lbs. this puts me back at pre-christmas weight. woo! what i have learned over the past month are these:
1. Calorie-Count.com, is an awesome FREE website and it is my goddess right now.
2. i've learned that i need to drink about 100oz of water a day because my dumb body loves to hold onto that shite.
3. excersizing is good for you! i've been going the last couple of weeks 6x/week. it's pretty awesome, i usually burn about 400-700 calories depending on intensity and duration of the work out.
4. watch that sodium!
5. basically i eat the stuff i've eaten before (because if i didn't i would CRY and give it up) just in smaller portions or i consider healthier alternatives (non-fat hot chocolate instead of 2%) blah blah blah.
anyhoo, not to go on and on about it. but i'm excited. i guess the few years prior i was concentrating on budgeting my finances and that is pretty squared away. NOW, it's time for budgeting my calories and concentrating on my health. woo. my goal is to fit into a Betsey Johnson dress by the end of the year. that isn't so drastic really. oh and i'll be purchasing a dress by her on EBAY for a third of the cost. :p
i also got a permanent full-time position at T-Mobile. about damn TIME! so i can finally get some paid vacation which i haven't had since 2004! suck.
oh and i spent a bunch of dollars at Projekt coz i needed to buy some cds from artists i've neglected to get their new albums and re-releases...ie. mira, the srhoud and siddal. fantastic!
that's all. :)
